Babies Update

Today was the day to thoroughly clean out the Anery babies' bins and give them fresh aspen, so I figured I'd get a quick weight and snap a quick photo. I weighed them all 2 weeks ago on the 13th - so with each picture I'll indicate the old -> new weight. They are all progressing nicely.

First up is Alice. 26g->33g

Trixie 26g->32g

Ralph, the big gainer of the day, 22g->30g

Finally, Ed, the runt, who is in deep blue, so I snapped a quick one, 18g->22g

Thanks... I'm not very creative on the names, but it does give a clue on my first intended pairings of them all.

Trixie is actually brighter than Ralph, but they're both looking great. The stripes aren't as appealing to me as I thought they'd be, but I'm sure I'll have a great time with them, too. They're too cute not to enjoy.

Oh, the cutie holding them is my darling wife (son's hands holding Alice).

I think I disagree there, I really like the stripes. I just reread and noticed that little Ed was in blue, how bright are his colors, normally?

He's a little brighter colored than Alice. Their stripes are more brownish than black. Their yellow is starting to come in, too, which I think looks really sharp on anery stripes.

I'm not disappointed at all with them, I just thought I'd like the stripes more than the motleys, but Ralph and particularly Trixie blow me away.

So they started with LESS yellow. You saw the one that Tula_Montage posted at 100 grams. That has more (or brighter ) yellow than yours. Then she posted a picture for me of a friends older snake that also looked less vivid than hers, but then she is an excellent photographer. I guess you can't really know for sure what's going to happen.
Thank you for indulging me in my new shopping obsession!

The yellow starts to show up as the hatchling starts to get around 6 months old or so (give or take). Some morphs seems to suppress the yellow like Granites, I think.
