Baby Ball Pythons!

Lolo

Surrounded by snakes
Soooooo, there's still ONE baby who has yet to emerge, but I can't wait any longer to share the photos. This was a pairing of a normal Ball Python female, with Mojave and Pastel males... looks like the Mojave won out, because a beautiful one hatched today! Unfortunately that's the only morph in the bunch, but I'm thrilled nonetheless. All are healthy (one came out w/ a bit of yolk & is doing fine) and basically perfect - 5 beautiful normals and one hot Mojave. Not sure about the sexes yet, but I think the Mojo & at least 2 normals are female. Here they are!

First a photo of the parents - Mona and Julius

In natural light - they look so wrinkly before their first shed, LOL.

awesome! you're right, that IS one hot mojave!!!!

He/she says thank you! :D Dad is pretty smokin' in my opinion, so I expected he'd make some nice babies... now let's pray the baby Mojo is a girl!

*edit*

i posted a dumb question that was answered in your original post, lol.

Okay, now I'm curious... :uhoh:

Aww, they're gorgeous! Congrats on the beautiful mojave especially!

Thanks! I'm pretty stoked on that one... actually, all of them. ;)

In an ironic twist, today is my "little" brother's 29th birthday - I called to wish him a happy birthday, and he thought it was super cool the baby (only the Mojo was actually born today) shares his b-day. Said I should name it after him, LOL.

lol, if you MUST know, i asked how much your babies weighed! i was too busy gazing at the beautiful photos and didn't see you posted their weights already :)

my first hatchling only weighs 34 grams

seems to be pretty healthy and alert though, so i'm not too worried

I just love their little puppy faces :).

Puppy faces... LOL, I've never heard them called that before! I think they have adorable faces, but my mother disagreed when she met them. She was like "Um, okay, if you say so!" :nope: She did think they were cool, though.

Wow - my Mojave weighs TWICE what yours weighs! Mine are fatties, but I think around 60g is typical... lower weights are fine, though, as long as they're otherwise looking healthy. Runts usually catch up after a few months, and I've even heard of some who eventually pass their larger siblings.

P.S. I'm not surprised mine came out fat, since the dad is HUGE... he's almost 1200g already, at only 13 months old!! Not to mention the large mother, who weighed 2500g before becoming gravid.

Hehe... well, my husband and I both looked at them and said, "Puppies!" Something about their big eyes and the shape of their snouts, I guess. Of course, we think Sea Lions look like dogs, too. Could be we just have dogs on the brain :).

Uh... gee... I wonder why you have dogs on the brain?? Looking at your signature, that makes perfect sense. :laugh01:

Looking good! What are you gonna do with the babies? :D

Thanks! I'll probably keep the Mojave, especially since it looks to be a female... also keeping the first to emerge, and probably one other normal girl. The rest will be up for grabs, and I already have a few people interested. Hey, Sparks isn't too far if you want one. ;)

Love the little balls they get into.

One? You think I want ONE? I want the whole bloody lot! :crazy02:

Too funny! They look like duck faces to me, for whatever reason...cute :)
