Is it typical for baby corns NOT to strike at their food? Maul just had his second feeding, he wouldn't take it from the tongs, so I just set the pinkie in the container with him. After a few minutes he started eating it. Is this typical or just Maul being different? lol

They're all different. A lot of them will start striking on larger mice (fuzzies, hoppers), but maybe yours won't. I have four and only two strike, one just kind of puts her mouth on it until I let go, and one won't eat while I'm watching no matter what I do.

As long as they eat...
 
He eats great, he is back in his viv now, in his favorite hid, chillin out.

Riddle doesn't strike or constrict on anything less than a full-blown fuzzy.

He's been striking and constricting mouse hoppers, but now I have him on 5-day old rat pinks and he just calmly grabs it and eats it(even if it's alive D: )
 
Frostbite strikes and coils. Charisma is very dainty. All the rest are in between.
 
I only feed live sometimes because I breed my own rats. 90% of the time it's f/t. But if the litter just happens to be ready on feeding day, they get a special treat of live prey.

If you don't plan on feeding live, don't worry about your snake striking. I've seen corn snakes so accustomed to f/t they never even learned to strike, and wouldn't if met with live prey.
 
My baby had her first feeding with us yesterday, I just put a warm pinky in the container and then set her in. At first I was concerned that she wasn't going to eat because she was just trying to get out of the container and ignoring the mouse. Then after I freaked out for a minute she just moved over to the mouse and calmly swallowed it ^_^ I was so proud.
 
Yeah I guess that's what was going on with my baby too, but of course all I could think was ''oh no, she must be so small because she won't eat!"...Did I mention I'm a worrier?
Did you breed Maul?
 
ACTUALLY never mind. I remember now from your introduction thread. Darth Maul, the cute little guy...I should really contribute so I can edit...
 
And he prefers a 7 day feed schedule. Actually looking for him to shed in the next couple of weeks
