Bad vibrations?

Is is okay to vacuum around your snakes? Mine are all in the dining room, and I really need to vacuum in there and the living room. Would it be too upsetting for the nesting mothers? Also I want to start on a quilting project soon, and I usually sew in the dining room, because I don't have anywhere else (we need a bigger house). Would the vibrations from the sewing machine be too much for my snakes?

I have two 20 long sitting on my sewing tables and it doesn't seem to bother the snakes, they have been there since I got them. I quilt, machine piece and machine quilt, so I would say yes on sewing. Although I wouldn't keep a gravid female on the same table as sewing machine. As for vacuuming my snakes are through-out the house my husband is a vacuuming nut :shrugs: so I would say yes on that too.

All 4 of my snakes are in the office in our house. They all poke their heads out when the vacuum comes through. As said, vacuuming doesn't seem to be a problem. The snakes are actually pretty interested in what's happening. I'd also avoid it with hatchlings less than about a month old, as they are much more sensative and mush more easily frightened by the world around them than older snakes. It wouldn't be a problem, but it might be a little more stressful for the young snakes.

Of course everyone vacuums sometime and no one has reported problems, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you. I know it was kind of a silly question, but you never know. I just want to make sure I doing the right thing for them.

I have a Roomba robotic vacuum. It bashes into things, like Choco's viv. He's learned that this means I am home, and he should intensify his begging to come out. He also responds to the TV like that.
