Bathing corn snake

I HATE hard water here (coming from somewhere that has only soft water). As soon as I go to visit my parents, my skin clears up almost overnight, my hair smoothes, and my hands stop bleeding from dryness.
And it's plenty drier where they live than where I live.
 
I feel like I can feel soap residue _with_ soft water. Like it never rinses off.

I love the mineral-y taste of my well water. But I always feel weird about people who use the bathroom here- the toilet bowls are brown. I can _barely_ get it off with CLR, but it's hard to get it to reach all the parts. My snake bowls all have a deposit ring.
