my corn doesn't seem to like batheing in the water, i was wondering if i should be putting him into water to get him used to it?? do i just put slightly warm water in a tub and put him into it? how much water?
 
I do bathe mine for exercise and it keeps the tank clean. I use just enough water so he can just slightly float if he chooses to, I put in about 2 inch for my fully grown corn, really lukewarm water- just a bit up from cold.
 
i agree with cindy, i do it mainly to exercise them, ive catually read a few people put their snakes in the garden or something or on the tree but i dont like to as its all full of bigs and whatnot. dont want them catching anything. :)
 
Hightower i have the same problem as you my corn's a big baby when it comes to water so i only bath him when hes in shed because i don't wanna traumitise the poor little guy( does anyone know if thats possible for like a corn to become traumitiesed when being exposed to something it dosen;t like?) Its wierd because about 90% of the corn owners i talk to their corns love to swim so i guess we have the oddballs. As an alternative i just take mine outside and let him crawl around in the grass while keeping a close eye out for birds. I then check him down for mites and if any are on him i simply use prevent a mite ( which only needs to be applied like twice) and thenboom no problem happy healthy corn. plus the sun seems to bring out his colors. I agree with everyone above on how to bath a corn expept i give a few extra inches of water but put stones in to for him to hang onto if he feels the need.

Mine get so stressed in water that I don't bathe them at all. If they seemed comfortable in it, sure, I'd do it, but neither of them do. If they have a shed that isn't complete or something, I just use a wet paper towel with cool water and that works well and keeps them calmer. I've never had an impaction problem, so unless there was an emergency reason such as that, I don't think I'll ever make them get in water.
 
I too am wondering why you want to bathe your corn... I've bathed mine before but only when one of them gets dirty somehow. I have one snake that constricts his mousies so vigorously that he sometimes pops them. Very messy... hehe. But neither snake likes baths much.
