Before Wild Caught

since i'm in the market for a rubber boa or two, i sent in a message to the local f&g here in town...their response was if you have a valid hunting or gathering permit you can collect NO MORE than 4 from the wild...i'm not sure about selling offspring if one were to breed? that is really the only local wild snake i would be interested in obtaining here at this time...not interested in rattlesnakes lol.

New Mexico doesn't like any imported animals (besides domestic and farm) without papers. If I do order animals I'll need to keep the records. I know the gila monsters are protected, but there are breeders. There is a diamondback breeder in a ranch outside my town as well.

I heard that horny toad's are protected here as well, and I know Albuquerque is picky about turtles being sold but I think that's just in the city.

I know they are no longer selling box turtles at any pet stores in Alb. Not sure if that is statewide. It is something to call fish and game about.
