Berks County Reptile Show Pictures!

Eriathiel

Short and Sweet
Just a couple pictures I got from the show - anyone who went is welcome to add theirs!

Some nice ball python morphs, including a caramel pinstripe I thought was beautiful! Then some sand boas... more pictures next...

Then some pretty kingsnakes... I loved the striped one, but I wanted a black and white stripe not a chocolate...

And finally, a scaleless rat. This was such a neat looking snake IMO. I really loved the bits of silver round the eyes!

Great looking snakes. Hopefully I won't derail the thread too much, but aren't there still some pretty major health problems involved with scale-less rat/corn snakes?

I had a feeling someone would start a convo about scaleless snakes! :) Thats fine!

I did talk to the breeder, and he said he had no major health issues - that just like in regular clutches occasionally a snake or two didn't make it, but that was to be expected.

There were a couple vendors with different scaleless rat snake morphs. Did you see the scaleless Leucistic Texas rat?

The chocolate Cal kings were trying to eat each other when Brian first put them in the display.;)

I saw the scaless critters as well and thought they did look really neat- I just think snakes should be bred with their scales, but interesting to look at for sure. Thanks for posting pics I didn't bring my camera but there was so much to see.

How much were the scaleless rats running? Just curious if they are as high as like the rare ball morphs.

I did see the Leucistic Rat! The same guy had this snake.

Why am I not surprised that the kings were trying to eat each other?!?! :)

This snake was priced at $2000... I think the Leucistic was $2,500 or so...

Izzy Thanks for posting the pics! You must have taken them early in the day.

Your welcome! I did take them a bit earlier... around 10:30 I think!

Great pics! I know I haven't been to many shows (2), but this is the first time I've EVER seen where they put kings in the same container for display. Is this the norm???

You know... I noticed something about my habits when I looked through your pics... I normally SKIP over all the BP/Larger snake pics because I never dreamed of having one (a BP). BUT... now that I've got a BP, I spent some time LOOKING at them... and admiring. LOL!

Thanks for sharing the pics!

You know I've seen them kept together and in separate containers. It just depends on the seller!

I'm glad you enjoyed the BP pictures! I think they are my favorite snake to photograph!

Looks like you had a grand ol' time! Great shots!

And yeah, the silver on the scaleless is cool. I don't care what anyone says, I want one.

I agree with you there!
While I can understand everyone's concerns, its not going to stop the breeder from breeding them, and since they are so cool looking I want one!

I'm going to try my darndest to hold one at the next expo I see one at. If I like the way they feel, I'll be getting one down the line.

And of course I'll have to lick it for Eric. :D
