The Name, 'Big Stig' explained -

Over here in the UK there is a tele series based on cars, called 'Top Gear', and they have a 'Tamed Racing Driver', who's identity is hidden, just to keep the suspense I suppose, named 'The Stig' (the name of my corn snake), and on an episode where they visited America they had 'The Stig's American Cousin', and they followed the common American Stereotype and made him fat, and nicknamed him 'Big Stig'.

Top Gear is the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title. :p

Great snake. Is Big Stig full grown? If not, how much bigger will she get?
 
No, she's not fully grown, she will get quite a bit bigger (hopefully ;)), between 3 and 5 feet they say, closer to 4/5 for a female, because they're generally bigger than males.

Do they air Top Gear over there ???!?!?

They used to have Top Gear on tv here but now it's just online- I don't watch it that much but my boyfriend loves that show!

haha, I love the name! I've never heard of the show though (I'm Canadian, most of our TV programs are american)
 
We get here it on BBC America, though I think we're a season or so behind - I love the 'Big Stig' reference.

Just keep her out of anyone's Camaro, she's too pretty! :D
 
Aren't they producing an American Top Gear with Adam Carolla? I keep waiting for it, but haven't heard a word in months.

BBC put a lot of episodes online. Even if you're not all that into cars it's worth watching. The best stuff was when they drove to the North Pole and the one where they challenged a world champion remote controlled car racer using real cars with remote controls installed.

Anyway, no, Top Gear isn't aired in Canada and even if it was it's been a long time since I had cable or even peasantvision hooked up.
