im wanting some advice/imput on seting a bio active for my corns. i have 2 yearlings and a 2 year old (all in separate viv) and was hoping to convert the wooden viv's for bio active but unsure on if a bio set up will rot the wood over time. all advice is welcome

Vondon,

Welcome to the forum. Not to pass the buck, but i'd honestly do some r&d over at Monster Fish Keepers forum. I believe it's monsterfish.com. A number of members there have made wooden aquariums, fully capable of holding large volumes of water. If you're up for the challenge, I think your answers would best be found there. UK and Europe have accessible many chemicals and product suited for cage building that we don't have here in the western side of that giant lake called the Atlantic Ocean.

Keeping a bio active setup in a wooden enclosure seems to be asking for trouble since wood rots. If the wood can be treated to prevent rot, i would worry about the chemicals. I keep my bio active setup in a glass tank and so far haven't had any issues.
