This guy got sold to me as a bloodred stripe, just like some confirmation it actually is one. I'm pretty sure he is.

alright perfect, I just wanted to make sure because I saw some threads about the difference between stripe and motley het stripe....and they look so similar.

anyway...I'm pretty happy with this guy, now I have to find him a mate

with out seeing it in person it looks like a bloodred stripe, do you think it is something else ?

I was just looking for any of the clear belly scales that are supposed to be markers for the blood stripe morphs. I do agree it is a stripe and if it was sold to them as a bloodred stripe by someone they trust it most likely is.
Just wondered what markers you were looking at.
John

I have to agree with John here on the belly. The snake is a stripe now bloodred, I would have to do breeding trials to be 100% certain unless you got it from a trusted breeder. However all of my bloodred stripes have the clear markings in the belly that John is talking about and as they mature those clear spots got pigment in them.

do you have any pictures of those clear markings? i have no clue what they look like

You know I did take pictures of my kids as they grew so people could see blood red stripe belly progression. Now where are they? I will work on finding them for you.

Well, quite definitely a male, at least! I'd like to see the entire belly in one shot, such as through a clear deli.

Sorry it took so long to get back with a picture. Crazy busy life. However here is a picture of my Hypo Fire (amel+bloodred) stripe. You can kind of see towards the top of her under each belly scale has a clear area with a huge clear spot further down. You can see on the lower half of her many of the clear spots have gotten some color. This is a very typical belly of a bloodred stripe at least in my limited experience. I do have a "plain" bloodred stripe as well so I will work on getting pictures of his belly as well for you.

IMHO your snakes belly is to clean. I am not saying for sure that it isn't but I wouldn't for sure call it a bloodred till I was able to do some test breedings. I do have to say though that it is a gorgeous snake with nice deep red color.

Here is a baby picture of her so can see that she is a stripe. I wish I would have thought to get a dorsal picture of her when I had her out.

I think if the person who BRED the snake sold her as a bloodred stripe, AND she came from two bloodreds, then she's a bloodred. You can't prove it by her belly scales, though. In her case. If she's second-hand, or the breeder had either one or both parents only heterozygous for bloodred, then I think it's more likely someone made a mistake.
