Blossom and Merlin ~ Pairing #3 for 2009

Susielea

Lily
This is my third and final pairing for 2009, Blossom and Merlin who I purchased as Lavender het Hypos, but have every chance of being homo Hypo. Hopefully this pairing will prove one way or the other, providing I get fertile eggs that hatch, that is ;)

Hope you enjoy! :)

Finally I have my first pippy from these two, after 76 days of incubation and a nice surprise het to boot!

I believe it's an Opal, so if Blossom and Merlin turn out to be Hypo Lavenders, then that would make it a Hypo Opal! I couldn't be more pleased! *read, grinning like the cat that got the cream!* :D

Here's the first little darling, I'll post more pics when the others pip/hatch :)

Thanks Jen and Fred! :D

I can see there's going to be a keeper or two from this clutch and I said no keepers this year! Shhh don't tell Ron, he might not notice an extra couple of tubs on the rack! ;)

OOooooooo....how exciting! In my opinion the parents look like they definitely COULD be homo Hypos. It's going to be fun proving them! :)

And if that first one pipping is indeed Hypo Opal - WoW! What a bonus!!! :D

Congrats with this awesome cluthc!

Update!

A bit of sad news, the second pippy was DIE (Dead in Egg) :(

But on the brighter side, so far there are 5 hatchlings out of their eggs, the first two are Opals, the next two are Lavenders? (I think they are too dark to be Hypo Lavenders, but what do I know?) and the fifth one another Opal with a difference!!!

Here are pics of the first 4.........Hatchling #5 deserves it's own post......

Congrats on the beautiful pips! And that one does have something special about him/her doesn't it? :/

Yes it is definitely a bit special! Can you see what the special feature is? ;)

Well, Sue, bless its little heart. Looks like you got yourself a pirate-of-the-seven-seas morph. ;)

AWWW!!!! I'd name him either Captain Jack, or Captain Swan (depending on gender). :D

Thank you both! We were thinking of Horatio Nelson for a boy! ;)

Seriously though, this little one doesn't move quite like the other hatchies either, so it may not make it, but I'll give it a fighting chance and if it does well I might put it up for adoption :)

I haven't attempted to sex any of them either as they are so tiny, the first little one I weighed quickly and got a reading of 5g!!!! I think a diet of pinky parts will be in order for some of these to start with :D

There are two more pips just chillin' in their shells and 4 eggs still to pip, so keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck, as I really want these to do well for me :)

Well,...he/she probably doesn't even realize there is a whole other half to the world,...to his right.

Well, Sue, good luck. For more healthy lavenders and opals.

DYK You have to spread some Reputation around before giving it to vetusvates again! ;)

Thank you Eric and yes, I just did a DYK in my own thread...lol
