Bout Dang Time

Aww hes definitely adorable! I think the stumpy tail is kinda cute! :) Congrats and I hope the other one comes out soon!!

:wavey: *raises hand* if u dont want, I am sure there are plenty of people here that would love to take him!! *wink wink*

Awww... sorry about the heart-sinking thing, can't be pleasant. Even with a stumpy tail, it's a pretty little thing! Good luck with the rest, my fingers are well crossed for you.

And Hatchling B...(and no, I didn't pull him out of his shell, he was dragging it around when I popped the lid)

This one has a good degree of zig-zagginess to the pattern, but still a shorter than normal tail with what appear to be some miniscule kinks.

I'd say this is a pretty good clincher for the temp spike being the culprit behind the first clutch going bad and these imperfections.

Argh. I'm going to be on egg shells waiting to see what abominations potentially come out of the Ghost Mot clutch. As if the temps affected these guys' tails, the Ghost Mots were less along and could have more issues farther up the body, theoretically.

Such a crappy year all around. :(

I was so excited to see that cute little pink nose, but then sad to read about the problems with these little snows. They're so darling... and the zig zag on that second one is really neat. Dang temperature spikes! *Fingers crossed all goes well with your Ghost Mot clutch*

Well, they say misery loves company, but I have never found that to be true. You are not alone. I had heat spikes in my snake room during breeding season ruin all my Z projects and a LOT of Miamis. I am having to rely completely on second clutches for those, and you know how second clutches can be. This year turned into a very bad year instead of the banner year I was expecting.
On a good note, I have a couple of het Z to het Z second clutches that seem to be doing great (one is due in just a couple weeks), and I just got a lovely second clutch of 16 eggs from one of my nicer Miamis. Besides, just hatching out the Hypo Pewter and having it eat was enough to make all the effort worth it.
So it sounds like you are having the same crappy start I did, and I sure hope things pick up for you like they did for me. Hang in there, things can get better.

ditto...

Yes, ditto with problems with heat spiking! I've had a horrible time incubating eggs this year! I have a gorgeous reverse okeetee baby, but there is something all wrong about him. Seems...short...somehow... Just doesn't seem the big lengthy look babies from other clutches have. Plus seems a lot of eggs just aren't hatching. I'm finding they contain full term babies that are dead. So though I thought I was going to have 200 plus, I'm not going to be anywhere near that after all!

So yeah, know exactly how your feeling!

sorry to hear of all the misshaps.. some times life just sucks!! but eventho thos two snows are cutiepays! hope that the aztec one outgrows the kinks!

Misty, those babies are darn cute even if they aren't perfect. I'm just sorry you're having a rough start this year.

Misty, so sorry to hear about your luck this year. Hopefully those two hatchlings feed well, they will make great pets for sure :)
