Braining

It's when you take a knife and puncture the back of a pinkies skull and let out the "brain juices", the scent of it will drive most snakes crazy.

I actually use a small eyeglasses screwdriver and use it to stir the brain around before putting the "mixture" on the nose of the pink as well.

Robbie... thats lightly twisted and now I'm a little uneasy with you... but sounds like a good trick for those picky eaters!

i use a nail. since my worchbench is nearby. then just toss it out. i only use a knife to slice open mice for a regurge victim and roll them around in nutribac to get it all nice and seasoned up. lol.

I have done it with live pinkies (Only after the snake would not take f/t brained ones) but make sure the process kills the pinkie quick. A lot of time I sever the spine right behind the head almost cutting the head off, working the point end of the knife ( old fillet knife) into the brain. Be extremely careful, Dont cut your fingers. I have had a few non-feeder eat this way. I also made sure as soon as the pinkie was prepared it went right in with the snake in the deli cup with no delays.
Not sure why they wouldnt eat the f/t brained one but they would eat freshly killed brained one. Picky little buggers.....

Just now? Not before? What does it take to make you feel uneasy around a person. I took Robbie off my Christmas card list as soon as I saw Capt. Morgan.

I have never brained before I comepletely cut an asf pink in 3 pieces for a picky eater. I cut the frozen pink while frozen then thawed, EW!

I just cut the pinkie in half with a razor blade while still frozen, so it cuts easy.... and offer both halves to the snake when they thaw.
