Brand new corn owner-first post

99% sure its an albino californian king snake, if not then its a albino jungle corn with about 98% cali king influence

What!?

Like I said it is definently an Albino California King Snake there is nothing that suggest that the snake in question has any Corn Snake blood in it. What you said would be like me saying that all your Corns are Jungles just showing 98% Corn Snake influence, seems pretty stupid the other way arownd huh?

Again---not sure why people feel the need to toss out random guesses when they have no idea what they're talking about.

Even if he is a king, he's just gorgeous! Reminds me of the colors on an albino lavender BP. I love him!

Wow! Are you going to tell Petsmart that they sold you a kingsnake instead of a cornsnake? That's crazy!

Good luck with him, tho, he's beautiful even tho he's not what you thought. :)

I will tell them if I have any problems but otherwise he has a new home with me and he'll get the best care I can give. I was a little disappointed when I first started thinking about it but after reading everyone's compliments, I am just happy to have a new little guy in the house.

Lovely little snake! He should grow up to be stunning.

Look at it this way... Now you have a perfect excuse to go buy another snake! Then you can be addicted like the rest of us! :grin01:

:ROFLMAO:

Of course after finding out you did not get what you thought you would, you disagree and feel bad about it at first... but this baby wil give you as much pleasure as a corn!

Nothin wrong with kings, well nothin wrong with friendly kings anyway lol he looks lovely though and hey-ho it's an excuse to get snake number 2 and make sure it is a corn, goes to show thee's ALWAYS a reason for more snakes lol. We don't generally have the problem of large chain pet shops here selling reptiles and the only pet shops that sell them here only have kids buy something from them or us lot go horde as we know what to look for and as you've found pet shops invariably don't know what they have really so it can be great for bargain hunting lol! At least at this time of year you'll have loads of corns around to choose from so won't be difficult to find if you choose to!

Nice king though, Rach

I think he was joking. I think his point was sort of ridiculing the idea of calling a 98%/2% king/corn a jungle. ;)

Considering the amount of inter-species breeding between corns and other rat snakes in the wild and in captivity (particularly emoryi), it doesn't seem unreasonable for me to consider that many/most of my corns are hybrids showing 98% corn influence. :shrugs: I used to be very concerned about this. I got over it. :)

Actually this is my 2nd snake! I've already got a ball python living large in a Animal Plastics T-10.
But, I really love the colors of the corns, so I'll be looking again, I still have a 20 gallon with an UTH that "needs" to be occupied.

Lovely little albino California King. Those are great snakes. I have a two year old normal that I wouldn't trade for anything. He has personality in spades!
