Breeders...

So, for the first time, I'm looking at a snake from a breeder vs a pet store. What sort of things should I look into. I would be ordering this snake to be shipped to me, and I don't know the first thing about checking out a breeder. Is it rude for me to just post the breeder out here and get opinions?

Check the BOI, if someone is unhappy with a breeder they list complaints there.
Also, check out the breeders on this site. I personally have not heard a single bad thing about anybody here, and I've been here a long time.

What morph are you interested in?

Not a corn??? Heaven forbid!!!
*takes a deeeep breath*

OK, there is a BOI forum listed if you scroll down. Under "Linked websites" and 2 spots down from Rich Z's Serpenco website.
If you find a breeder you are thinking of doing business with, type his name in the search engine of the BOI and you can get the skinny on em.

Okay, so I checked the BOI and there's no mention. So, I guess, would everyone just go ahead and purchase this snake then?

Depends...
I would probably go with someone listed as a "good guy" if possible.
Why not go to a forum dealing with that snakes particular species and see what those people have to say?

Well, Mike from Boa Kingdom has a beautiful ATB that he actually got from Chicago Reptile House (Which I know, and like, as a store. I bought my first royal there....). He is very affiliated with them, which says good things. I guess my concern would be the shipping of the ATB.

Mike's a good guy. You have nothing to worry about if you choose to get the ATB from him. Don't worry about shipping---most breeders have plenty of experience and will not ship animals out if there is a chance of 'excessive' harm to the animal (ie, don't expect an ATB to be shipped when temps are at 0).
