Breeding is starting early this year.....

So you'll be starting work on your 2007 pricelist any day now, right? :sidestep:

Uh, not quite............... But I'll try to have it done before the babies begin hatching. I think I just slid under the wire last year........

Just passed the 50 clutch marker. I think there are still some 250 or so left to go......... :crazy02:

But fertility has been excellent so far (knock on wood). Haven't had any females that have bombed completely yet.

And I have NO idea why they all kicked in so early this year. I really didn't change anything environmentally. :shrugs: But at least everything should be hatched out by Daytona Beach this year. It's always nuts trying to get ready for that show with babies still hatching out that need to be set up and fed.......

Well the egg laying is just about over with. Just a few stragglers and possibly some females doing double clutching on their own. We don't purposely double clutch them, but they will often do so anyway.

Just over 3,600 good eggs laid, with fertility running just a hair below 90 percent. Feels REAL good not having 6,000+ babies on the horizon to be hatching out......

Hope to finally get my 2007 list published now that I have the raw data needed to figure out what I should actually have hatching.

I have had several people email and PM me about availability and pricing on the 2007 animals. I guess the best thing to do is to check back on my SerpenCo website for the 2007 list when I get it finished. Otherwise I just can't answer those questions right now, and can't see any reason delaying getting the price list done by trying to figure out the same info to answer those queries.

Thanks....

Congrats!!! 3,600 eggs, I can't even imagine! Make sure you tell us when that list is up so I don't miss it.

Good luck with your babies!!!

You've got to love that. I did not have quite that success, but I tried several first time males and a few of which were not brumated. Some were good and gave me 100% fertility and some gave me 100% slugs. :shrugs: I also had a good number of first year females and they did not behave as well as the good ole females that have been around here a while.

But man..... 3600 eggs! Wow. I can't even begin to think about 3600 much less your last year of 6000! Holy cow!

Congrats and good luck putting that 2007 price list together. I know I've been waiting.....

Had out first pips two days ago.......... :eek1: GoldDust bred to Butter/Snow (or whatever the heck it was I called them last year...). Usually my Blizzards are the first ones to make a showing.

And so it begins for another year.

Very nice! That means they'll be out and feeding by Daytona!!! YEAH!!!

Keep us updated and maybe throw us a bone or two and post a couple of pipping pictures of cool clutches....I guess that would be all of them....eh? ;)
