Buying a cornsnake

:shrugs: I probably hear wrong then
but I also have never seen them in person or for sale

That would be funny if everyone is just messing with us about the old snake sausages...

And Petsmart does sell frozen mice- but you have to ask for them they are not out in the open as at Petco.

Okay, so I bought the snake. :]
And I bought the frozen mice. (My mom gave in.)

Ended up naming it NoFeet. Haha. <3
Well, everything was all situated..
And the lady at the store assured us that he couldn't squeeze through the tiny holes at the top..
but he did.

There's a little cornsnake running around my house.
:/
I've been looking EVERYWHERE.
Now I think that he's under the fridge, since it is warm and nearby his cage.
I'm afraid to move it though; I don't want to run him over with the wheel.

I guess I'm going to warm up a mouse.
It's a good thing he hasn't eaten since last Saturday.
Haha.
Wish me luck! <3

well first off congrats.
and second, awh man thats a bummer! The petstore i went t actually bagged my corn. (like a fish bag.) he put papertowel in there then closed it up with plenty of air.
and good luck I hope you find your baby!

Ive never seen petsmart selling frozen mice.. ever.

haha if your mom thinks mice are bad in the freezer. How about guinea pigs and rabbits! haha :grin01:

I found them at Petsmart but I had to ask for them. They were actually in a glass front freezer by the fish....I have no idea why. Little black plastics tubs of 6 in various sizes. :)

I think I remember an entire table selling snake sausages at the Daytona show. Anybody else see it? I know it was 2nd floor, I want to say near registration.

Oh my God.
He's behind the fridge!
Hahaha.

It's warm, dark, and pretty quiet.
The brat!
I left a piece of chicken on the floor and he ate it.

Great.
I'm going to try to lure him out again when it's dark.
:/

Unbelievable! We have people here who lose snakes that are never recovered, and people with snakes that won't eat. You find yours immediately, and it eats chicken out in the open on the floor. I'd say your beginner's luck can only hold out for so long... ;)

 Congrats on finding him, hopefully you can lure him out and get him back in his viv. Also good to hear he eats, hopefully mice taste like chicken so he'll switch back! :grin01:

ROFL Grats on finding your chicken eating snake...

Has anyone tried to feed the sausages to a unsuspecting sibling or tried them themselves?

Wonder what they taste like? Chicken?

Dresden

Thanks. <3
Haha.

The rats are creeping me out a bit.
They look like puppy fetuses.
It's a little weird..

I hope I didn't spoil him, though.
Haha. I've wasted two rats trying to get him to eat.
I guess I'll just wait until next week before trying again.

I'm so glad I have him back. <33

Puppy fetuses? really? I think they look more like trolls.

Your snake doesn't need to eat any more than once every 5-7 days. He's not eating because he's not hungry. Leave him be, let him settle in, and try again next week...

Yeah despite Kathy having a peice on them, and actually having discussed it with her (I made a topic about it once) they seem to be made of unabtainium :grin01:
I was also discussing it as an option with my mother before I got my snake, but it seemed even more likely that a sausage in the freezer spelled more trouble for family.

I have actually bought them, back in the late 80's or early 90's. (Time gets blurry as you get older and did too many fun things in college!) :D

My snakes ate them, but they were way grosser than dead mice IMO. :grin01:
