Buying an adult vs a hatchling...

Velvet

Totally corn crazy!!!!
Hi Everyone!

Okay, I am buying a large adult female, I have only ever bought hatchlings and snakes younger than 6months old before so was wondering if the "procedures" and questions to be asked are the same or if there is anything I have forgotten to ask...lol

So far I have established:

* Her age
* Her morph (kind of obvious)
* Where she was bred
* More or less how big she is (for viv size required)
* That she is a successful, established breeder
* She is a VERY good eater
* Prey size required
* That she is well handled
* She is very calm and docile

Anything else you guys can think of? :)

lol She shed on Monday, the day the guy took pics of her for me...lol Judging from pics, she looks very healthy! :D

Don't think twice! get it! Here in Mexico we don't have those opportunities.... everything is pretty expensive... a hatchling corn snake costs 200dlls on a mall store and getting it in an illegitimate way it costs you 100dlls :eek1:

lol Thanks. She is already officially mine, though her owner won't let me pay for her until I have seen her and I am satisfied which I think is terribly nice of him! I really think I am getting a bargain.

It's VERY rare to find adult females for sale here and even when you do, they are either normals or grossly overpriced. I'm so so lucky to have found such a nice girl at such a great price!! :D

IF she was used for breeding.... maybe you can ask What she was bred with and what kind of babies they had? If there was any problems with the babies?? Good luck with your new corn! This is the first year I have ever bought adults myself and I havent been unhappy (too much) so far :) *I say too much because I was mislead on the size of a pair I bought*
