camera stupid

mpharris1989

hi! i'm new!!!
so im getting my new snake tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and want to take pics with the digital camera i got for christmas
heres the scoop
i'm a guy, and could really care less about photos and memories (to me it ruins whats going on by having to stop it all and take pics)
but anyway, i was playing with it last night, and can't seem to find a good setting for close up pics as if i was shooting a snake :(
so just wondering for help??
and also, is it better to use to flash or not, i heard it doesnt bother the snakes eyes that much as long as they are already adjusted to light???

ya, the macro closup??
i thought that was it, but it doesnt seem to do much :(
maybe my camera sucks
its a nikon coolpix L11 if that helps

ok wow
so i did that last night so many times like i said
and just because you told me it, i decided to try it out again, and the first few sucked, but after that they turned out really good, so maybe i just had to break it in or something :)
thanks!

just have to learn what the minimum focus distance is, and try to remember that you can't get any closer than that. a lot of digitals these days have next to 0" so its not much to worry about

have fun!

with those types of cameras even the slightest movement in macro setting is going to mess it up and make it blurry so if you have a little table tripod that it came with or something to set it on it will help.

Not familiar with that model (I'm like you when it comes to picture taking)... see if it has an image stabilization feature. With mine, it seems I get better pictures in the normal mode, as long as the snakes aren't too darty.

My wife, a professional technical writer, advises... RTFM. LOL!
