well I don't see why you cant use a mouse hide for a snake, as long as its not to big. I'm not sure what will happen if it smells of mice... But like you said "never been used"

Actually, Kleenex boxes and old jello molds turned upside down with a hole cut in the side work great!
 
i like a more natural look, so as cool as a tampon box would be in a habitat, i just buy a $5 coconut at superstore, and saw it in half. There. two natural looking hides.

P.S. don't forget to take out the "meat" inside.

P.P.S. if you chop it into smaller pieces, and toast it in the oven, it is an amazing ice cream topping.
