Did you get him from a well known place? if he was sold to you as a candycne then he should be. Your pictures are not all that clear, so it's not easy for folk to tell you. If you get a decent pic with a digital camera people can tell you what he is.
 
IMO there looks to be too much orange in the background, between the saddles, to be a candycane but she's still a sweet amel...... :)
