Can't Find Hoppers!

PnyKlr

I can't find F/T hoppers locally, and it isn't really feasible for my to order bulk until my snakes are on adults. What is my next option? I am currently feeding one fuzzy, and I will be needing to upgrade soon. Should I feed 2 fuzzies, one rat pink, move straight to adults (and just try to find some small ones)? I have no idea, and would like your advice. Thanks!

You could use a variety of options. I think the easiest would be to feed multiple fuzzies until they are ready to move onto adult mice.

I guess you could use a rat pink or whatever the equivalent of a hopper mouse is to a rat. But I always have trouble finding frozen rats.

How about breeding mice? I know a lot of people do that and it saves money if you have numerous snakes.

I don't have plans on venturing into the mouse-breeding business. Mostly, I envision being over-run with mice!

I was concerned about the nutrion difference between mouse fuzzies, and rat pinks. It looks as if 2 fuzzies are the way to go. Thank you!

That sounds like your best bet... 2 fuzzies. And as far as the nutritional value between mice and rats, I believe rats have a larger nutritional value.

I would agree with everyone here and say 2 fuzzies. When I first got into corns I couldn't find hoppers either (didn't even know that there was such a thing until I had already had my 1st corn for 8 years). Two fuzzies for a few months and then they were ready to handle small adults.

Thank you for all of the replies! These corns are my first snakes ever, and so I'm just getting into the "where's the best place to find mice" game.

*Let me mention that I am well on my way to suffering from the highly contagious disease MSS, or Multiple Snake Syndrom. Hopefully, I won't progress to the much harder to treat MRS, or Multiple Rack Syndrom, from which there is really no hope in recovery.*

That is so funny - and so true! It is such an addictice hobby!

About the hoppers, I'm having a hard time bumping snakes up to hoppers. They'd rather have two or three fuzzies! I guess hoppers look so imposing.
