Lovely critter! I do think though that 'cubed' refers to the patterns of the saddles and not to the spots inbetween. But I do like this better!

Well let's all think about it, a cube is a 3d object, shouldn't we be saying square? And I thought it was the spots in between the saddles that stood out as squares, not the saddles :shrugs:

I think it's a beautiful example of a morph I like a lot: caramel motley. But it's not cubed. I've seen a number of motleys where the motley "ovals" were squared-off like that. I really like that look.

No, it looks that way to me too. Maybe I posted too definitively about it not being cubed. It doesn't look like any cubed that I've seen in photos, but I don't think that even the experts have quite figured out the exact relationship between motely, cubed, and striped. Striped may even be involved in that snake's look. Hopefully a keener-eyed, more experienced keeper than I am will have something to say.

"Cubed" refers to the pattern when the saddles are cubed-shaped. I would consider yours a regular motley. It's a great pattern, though. I have a normal motley with the same square pattern.

Like Terri said, the 'cubed' refers to the pattern, and not the motley dots. Furthermore, 'cubes' are stripes, not motleys.
