Catfish trip . . . DUW!

Well last weekend was amazing! Drove North into Canada to catch some monster channel catfish. We can catch them fairly regular around here, but they are bigger and caught more often up there! Not surprising since the river is 2-3 times larger as you get closer to its mouth. 10 of us went on the trip with 3 boats. Our boat consisted of myself, my dad (he's recovering from rotator cuff surgery, hence the harness), my youngest brother, and my oldest son . . . good times!!

Final tally after going through the 200+ digital photos cross checked with my old man's notepad gave just our boat 65 total fish with 1050 lbs. caught. That's an average of 16.1 lbs. of ugleeee channel cat per fish! :grin01: The largest fish from the weekend was 25 lb. 6 oz. My oldest caught the second largest at 25 lb. 1 oz. The fishing is purely for the sport and completely catch and release. I'll let the pics speak for themselves, and I only chose to post the 19+ pounders!! :eek1:

Enjoy, and thanks for looking!

That must have been a great weekend the cats look great. I love to go catfishing but I never caught them that big before. Catfish is good eating too.

Looks like you guys had a blast! Can't believe you caught that amount of HUGE catfish! Thanks for sharing!

Wow, those ate beautiful!! What were you using for bait?

Have you ever seen the DVD "Okie Noodling?" Crazy...

Nanci

Noodling is crazy, and a lot of fingers and toes lost from what i've seen. Still cant believe they catch catfish using fingers and toes as bait!

Looks like you had a great time up there. And catching a lot of fish is great so i'd have to imagine catching a lot of huge fish is better.

Glad to hear you had fun!

Thanks for sharing.

Oh man, those are huge fish! My husband saw the photos and is insanely jealous. Now for about a week I'm going to have to listen to him whining about me never letting him go fishing.

:-offtopic Can you please tell me what "DUW" means?

Incredible Brent. Those are huge. I wish I could have been there. As for the ghetto net, chaulk it up to one of the millions of things that can be fixed with the magic of duct tape. Those catfish are awesome. Great job.
