A lot of times I will take "McQueen" out of his viv and put him in a plastic bin and he poops in there, so there is never really anything dirtying up his viv.

So how long can I go before changing it as long as there is no moisture/waste in there?

I say either way you should change it out at least every month. Give his cage a complete clean. Its better safe than sorry, you dont want any parasites in your snake
