Changing weather conditions

Just wondering what everyone does to keep your snakes warm in the colder months? I've upped the watt bulb by a small amount to see if it makes any difference but what do you do? Anything different?

I do nothing. My snake are heated with belly heat that is controlled by a T-stat. All bulbs do is dry out the air and make the snake shed badly.

yup me too, underbelly heat, mine is controlled manually by a riostat at the moment, but will be getting a thermostat ASAP

I use under belly heat as well. However, I also have a boa, ball python, and frilled lizard in my room which cannot handle drops in temperature too much below 75. I like to leave my windows open in the winter (i'm a cold fan ha), so I had to find a way to keep them warm. I've separated my room into half with thermal lined curtains and run a radiator heater on the side the critters are on. It stays around 75 degrees in here at night, 80 in the day. It works well and everyone seems happy.

As long as the tank has a regulated heat source and the setup is working properly, the temp inside the tank should be constant regardless of the weather outside your house.

If the house heating kicks in or someone opens a window, a thermostat will automatically adjust the heat source up or down as appropriate.
