So I have repti-bark, and my snake seems to always go along the glass. Do I just scoop out and throw away the bark around that spot, and obviously the glass?

If I use this method, am I still supposed to replace all of the substrate after about a month even if it never got pooped on?

And what about peeing, I doubt that's visible, is it just not an issue?
 
IMO, wipe off the glass, and pull out the substrate directly underneath it. And yes, you still do want to change the bedding once a month (if not even more frequently) because they still might be urinating, and you just don't see it. I have one snake in particular that loves to "flood" her viv, and it smells like crazy until it's cleaned. Another thing to remember about replacing the substrate: even if they didn't poo on it, there are other ways it can get dirty (them crawling through their poo and then onto the bedding, germs from their food, etc.).
 
well i hav learnt something new there cos i didnt know you were supposed to clean them out once a month, i just thought i had to "spot clean" and i didnt know snakes urinated i just assumed it all came out together when they deficated?? just goes to show we can learn form these forums ty

i was cleaning mine out this week anyway just cos i dont like the substrate they got :D
