Columbia SC Show July 16

I read where this is a one day hot show. The show in raleigh this past april was lacking so far as corns go other than the fact i got to meet Kathy Love. Normally i'd just wait and go to the Raleigh show in September but that happens to be our home opener in football, so that's a no-go.

Has anyone ever been to the SC show mid-hatchling season? If so, what were your experiences and which breeders do i need to look at for quality animals. I was just wondering if it's worth the 4.5 hour drive if i'm looking corns. I might be driving down the night before, so hotel and dining recomendations would be cool as well.

I may do the show, but not sure yet. I'll have mostly corns and a few other odds and ends.

I have not done one of Tony's mid-July shows so I'm not too sure how they will go. Mostly, they are probably a lot like the early spring shows...a lot of last years stuff and some WC that has poked its head out in the wrong place. As far as corn breeders, the Columbia Show is usually lacking. There are some wholesale types there but few breeders. Every once in a while you'll find someone good with corns. In my opinion, though, the best show for corns in OUR area is the Raleigh show...unless of course you count me. I do most of the local shows in SC but usually bring the 'lower' end stuff as I have very few buyers of 'high' end animals...but I do bring a few pairs just in case. :)

Although I'm still undecided about the Columiba show...I WILL be at the Spartanburg show on July 30-31.

And again at Daytona
Tampa...
Greenville...
Columbia in the Fall....

just out of curiosity, you wouldnt have any granites do you? The more i read about it, the more i realized there probably wouldnt be a whole lot of what i'm looking for so far as snakes go. So, i think i'm gonna go for the experience (never been to a hot show) and prolly pick up some feeders as well.

Define granites....

I have granite burms....but I doubt that is what you are looking for. :)

I bet you are talking anery A blood...right?

This is the first time i've ever ordered VIP tickets, and they havent come in yet. Has anyone else ever had a problem with not getting tickets in time? or not getting them at all?

With Tony...you never know what is going to happen.

For what it is worth:
I ordered and PAID for tables at his shows just to arrive and not be on ANY list and have no place to setup....

Great, well as it seems i'm gonna have to call them this afternoon when i get home from class. I emailed them yesterday but have gotten no answer so far. No tickets, no answer, big suprise?

Alright, if i dont get my tickets, is there usually a list or a place i can go to get them and still be able to get in early?

I would suggest that you bring a copy of your canceled check or credit card charge(maybe you can print an online statement if you didn't get it in the mail yet) with you when you go to the show (if your tickets don't arrive). Although Tony tries to do a lot of good things and has some very good ideas, sometimes things get a little chaotic at his shows. I have known some people who didn't get tickets and couldn't prove they paid, so had to buy new tickets, then try to get a refund later - not convenient. So bring along your proof of payment to avoid those difficulties.
