Coming Soon to my Backyard.

Hooo-ahh! Now that we have a real backyard with a real fence and some real grass and some real room, the wife is allowing me to get a real dog!! In fact she's just as excited about it as I am. She made the contacts, she made the deposit. I get to take the road trip in September to pick out my new Vizsla pup.

The litter was born on July 30th. First pic is after being born. Second pic is just yesterday at a week and a half old. There's 6 males and I get 3rd pick of the litter. I followed up with pics of mom and dad as well.

Thanks for looking,
D80

Visla! Great looking dogs and an all around working hunting dog, too! I love their color and their temperaments are similar to the GSP, which I have had many.

Congrats again!

Going to take any blue bowl shots of the new pup when you get it?!

My grandparents neighbor has a viszla when I was a kid. They are neat dogs! Congrats on the pup and the new house!!

not only are they great hunting dogs, but my brothers college buddy has one that is like a babysitter for them. loves kids and protects them.

NICE looking dogs, Brent. Hope to see lots of pics of the little one when you get it.

BTW, this is the very FIRST time I've ever heard of a Vizsla. Time to do some research! LOL.

Thanks again to everybody. Mike (mike17l) has a Vizsla in his avatar which is where I first saw one. A good friend of mine talked about one that he had as a child and exclaimed how great they were. Back in May when we decided on the house, my wife started researching dogs (unbeknownst to me, and she didn't want a lab) and based on her criteria (low odor, friendly, doesn't smell, hunting, doesn't stink, low shedding, did I mention odor?, and a house dog) the Viszla kept popping up.

My Jack Russell is a big dog in a small body. Apparently Viszla's are a small dog in a big body! I'm sure Dean will love to hear that their personality has been compared to a chihuahua's (which made my wife happy as well since she has one!) They're everything and more that a big dog should be, and I'll be attempting to train the pup for hunting, but that's secondary to being a family pet. No disappointments if he doesn't hunt well, but supposedly, these things hit the ground from birth looking for birds!

More pics will be coming as I get them, and I'll be sure to snap a few with a blue bowl! ;)

My sister in laws family always had Vizsla's. The one I remember was a sweet old man that had grown up in a house with 4 girls and one boy. He was a very calm laid back kind of a guy. I guess he had to be to live with that many women!

Congrats on the house and the dog.

Congrats!! One of my favorite customers has a very old Vizsla that she always brings in with her. I adore him, and I always have a bunch of his favorite treats set aside.

That should be a great dog. The parents look great. Make sure you invest in a good e-collar, I really like the Dogtra brand. And as far as hunting, with a dog like that, most everything they need to know, they already know. The most important thing is teaching them the basics; sit, come, heel, stay, lay down, ect. Once they know that, "teaching" them to hunt is easy.

I LOVE VISLAS!
post tons of pics when you go pic your new pup up! :D I can't wait!

This should tide you over for a while: http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76777

Beautiful...until some jerk bobbed their tails. ;)

LOL, I was wondering if you noticed that. Hey did KIII get the ol sniperoo when he was born? Just wondering...

I'm in the middle of reading a couple of Richard Wolters books right now. Second time through on one of them. Can't pick this boy up on day 49, but it will be day 51.

I'm anxiously awaiting KJ's answer now . . .

What beautiful puppies. Congrats. You have an awesome wife.
Thanks, and yes I do. She reminds me every day! ;)
