Coming to central Florida

I know I have been a lurker only lately, but I need some ideas from the Florida crowd what to see and do around central Florida.

A little background why this trip is so important. In February I lost my Dad so this is the first Holliday season without both of my parents. My brother is married so he has his in laws to spend the holidays with, they are awesome and invited me to come over for Christmas. It will be too hard seeing them and their family. My Aunt invited me to come spend Christmas with her and my cousin in Florida.

They are located in central Florida. I can't do amusement rides so amusement parks are kinda limiting. I am thinking about checking out animal kingdom. I hope to talk them into doing at least one or two reptile places, where would you recommend going? Any ideas would be great.

Consider Reptile World Serpentarium in St. Cloud. The owner, George Van Horn, has been in the venom collecting and exhibit biz for a LONG time. He originally trained under Bill Haast at the Miami Serpentarium many decades ago. His St. Cloud exhibit has some really beautiful and well kept herps, and he also does venom extractions behind glass at certain times of the day.

Animal Kingdom is fun even if you don't do the one roller coaster. Actually, all the Disney parks have non-coaster still fun rides!

Gatorland is super fun.

Reptile Discovery Center in Deland is cool. So is Reptile World Serpentarium, of course.

St. Augustine Alligator Farm is fun, if you go up that way. They have every species of croc in the world.

Kennedy Space Center is right on the coast.

Boston Lobster Feast is wonderful, if you love seafood!
 
(If you go to Reptile World, or really anywhere reptile-y, we can probably get some Florida people together for a meet-up!)
