How do you put a picture of your snake so it appears with your User Name?
I know you need a digital camera. Can you do it with a Cell Phone Camera and email it to yourself and then download that some way?

Huh?
If you have the pic on your computer, go to 'User CP' and click on 'edit avatar' and then upload it.
But the pic has to be small (160 x 160 max) or it won't work. There's programs to resize the pics, I have a mac so I can use iphoto but I've heard the 'paint' works too.

Yes...what she said.

You can use your camera phone or any other method as long as you can get the picture on the computer. I use my camera phone constantly to take/email pictures.

I am going to use my camera phone to take a picture and send it to my email.
I am not sure how to access the picture in email for download to this site. Any suggestions are appreciated. I will try it and see what I can do. Hopefully its not too diffcult.

When you get your pic in the email, save it to your pictures & then when changing the avatar search the 'your pictures' file & upload the pic.........hope this helps... :wavey:

Ya, you don't actually access the picture through your email. You need to save it on to your computer first, in your "My Pictures" folder. Then like bribrian said, after you click on "Manage Attachments", just browse "My Pictures" and then upload the picture. Hope it works out!

I have a mac also, (getting the new iMac in may, woo!) But I HATE using iPhoto for photo resizing lol, I use iGoom, its free, and is a really good simple app for resizing. Albeit being a bit CPU-hungry lol

I followed al the directions and it worked except the picture is too large. I got a message that said "That image is too large. The maximum dimensions are 160 by 160 pixels"

My next question is what can I do to make this work. Another poster said it can be done. I have a Windows PC with the latest version of Windows. I am not very computer savvy so I hope there is a simple solution. Thank you.

I just use my basic "Paint" program to resize my photos however, I tried to explain it to another member and it didn't work for them... :shrugs:

If you want to try it here is what you do:

Open the picture in Paint, then go to "Image" and click "Stretch/Skew". In the Stretch portion on top it will show 100% in the Horizontal and Vertical boxes. Change the number equally (I typically just type in 50 or 75) and continue to reduce it until the picture is the proper size. Hope this works for you and wasn't too complicated.

Is paint on every computer? How do I find it? I know tgis is elemental but all I know how to do is surf and email.

Yes, if you click on "Start", then go into "All Programs", you should see "Accessories" and it will be listed in there as "Paint".

It worked as you can see. Thanks for all the help. I ended up emailing the pic to a computer savvy friend who resized it and sent it back and then it was easy to upload using User CP.

I will play with the "paint" program just to learn how to do it.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance but glad to see you got it on there!! Beautiful snake by the way!!!

That should have been the first suggestion... :grin01:

FWIW I started playing with the paint program. My kids play with that program. I had no idea it was the same thing and no idea you could move a photo into and then adjust it. These computers are amazing.
