Continued-What I found at the pet store!

Here is a very bad picture, I don't even know if you will be able to tell me anything from it, of the snake I found at the pet store. I posted a thread earlier, but just got him home to take pics. I only have my camera phone so I'm not sure if it will help any at all. I might have to wait until closer to Christmas when I get my digital camera. So here goes.....

That's what sucks about my pictures from my phone, he has the white like a snow, but instead of pink, which he does have some, there is more peach and purple. He looks to be a cross between a snow and a lavender color wise.

I had photoshop up so I fiddled with you picture a bit. Does either of these look closer to reality? If so, that's one pretty snake! Looks opal-ish to me.

I love you Marsha, exactly what I was trying to describe. The first picture you photoshopped , but just a tiny bit lighter looks exactly right!!! He definately doesn't look like Bekers71 though.
Thanks all of you for helping me out, I really appreciate it. So if you look at the photoshopped pic, what do you think?

I'm not exactly sure about his age, but if I had to guess by his size I would say he is either an 06 or 07. He is about 2 1/2 feet long at least.

At the price of $40 I would be hard pressed to be convinced it's anything other than a Snow . . . especially with a 2 year old snake at that price. I'm not trying to bust bubbles, but you can wish and hope all you want, the reality of chance would dictate otherwise.

I understand, but when you are dealing with someone who don't even know how to sex a snake or the that there is a difference between a corn and a creamsicle the probability increases.

I think we are just going to have to wait and see when I get my digital camera for better pics. Thanks all for your help!!

Unfortunately, no it doesn't. Supposing the pet store owner is an idiot and doesn't know what he's selling. His price is going to be based on his purchase price of the snake. Typically a 100% markup (he most likely paid $20 for that snake). Now convince me his wholesaler sold him an Opal for $20. Suppose the wholesaler is an idiot. He's going to sell his product for the typical markup of 100% (he purchased it for $10). Now convince me that the supplier to the wholesaler sold an Opal for $10 . . . That's a lot of supposition . . .

Let's say the pet store owner bought it from a customer . . . IF the customer purchased it as an Opal, there's no way they sold it to the owner for $20, or even $40. IF the customer bought it somewhere else (mistakenly) as an Opal, see the above scenario. That's even more supposition . . .

OR, it's a typically high-colored, average priced, Snow. No supposition needed.

I totally understand what you are saying lots of supposing going on. You sound exactly like my dad, it isn't even funny. One thing I have learned is not to fight with my dad, he is always right.

Unfortunately, that wasn't my goal!! :D

PS. For the record, I think you made a great purchase. For $40, it was well worth it. In my humble opinion, a gorgeous Snow is better looking than an Opal anyway. I've never personally been impressed with Opals. Very few have been too different looking from a quality Snow corn. :shrugs:

Unfortunately, that wasn't my goal!! - you say with a big toothy grin...LOL!!!

Thanks Dad, I respect and appreciate your opinion!! I thanks you for your time tonight, I had fun!!!
