Cool hide

I'm not worried about this but i thought i'd ask anyway.

I got my snake last saturday. For the last few days its been in its cold hide (temps in the warm and cool are good, 85 and 73 respectively).

I know it was due a feed the day i bought it and i'm planning to feed it tomorrow. So its probbaly gone 13 days without a feed.

I was thinking its in the cool hide to slow its metabolism so that it doesn't use up its reserves.

Is that anywhere near the mark?

Thanks

Seems to me the snakes go to the warm side hide mostly to digest food since he hasn't eaten he doesn't really need the extra temps.

Most of mine spent the majority of their time at the cool end. Some don't even seem to use the warm end much even when digesting.

Your temperature range is fine, so I'm sure he's just choosing the the spot that's best for him.

Welcome to the hobby!
