coral ghost tessera?

If there was ever a word that made me want to punch babies in their faces' face, it's coral.

But yes, I suppose it's possible with a couple generations of inbreeding.

There is no real definition of coral so it gets thrown around and applied to everything that might possibly turn pink.

So far I've seen the following genetic combinations used in conjunction with the word coral-

hypo + anery in conjunction with the presence of some pink
hypo + anery + amel in conjunction with the presence of some pink
strawberry + anery in conjunction with the presence of some pink
strawberry + anery + diffused with the possibility of turning pink
line-bred pink ghosts
line-bred pink snows

My hypo opal stripe is pink. Can I call it coral? I mean, I know it's lacking anery (the common gene in all the above examples), but it's still pink.

If it were up to me, coral would apply to JMG's line-bred pink ghosts and snows, and no other corn snake genetic combinations, regardless of how pink the snake may be.

i did specifically mention jmg, thats the color i mean. i have a hypo lav, strawberry anery and strawberry snow that are all pink, but i don't call them coral.

Surely it is possible. It will cost a bit of change to get a nice coral animal from JMG and a tessera, but it could be worth it in the end. No pink like a JMG pink.

Several breeders are now referring the JMG "Coral" ghosts and snows as Salmon Ghosts and Salmon Snows to help eliminate the confusion. I bred a tessera het anery to a JMG Salmon Ghost this year. I got some anery tesseras that are showing some pink but they will need to be refined.

I shot for ghost Tesseras this season in one of my clutches but to no prevail. I would love to see a "pink" ghost Tessera or pastel, coral, salmon which ever definition anyone wants to call it. So Ill be waiting for your photos Dave to see what they look like good luck...
