Corn Rule The World???

Corns_will_rule_the_world
what will be the best pet??? i ahve housed Cornsnakes for the last 5 or 6 years and before that it was birds... Maccaws, the Hyacinth it might be one of the most beutifull birds in the world.. they are so smary we also had a green wing and like 10 parakeets birds are so smart... then we went to Newfoundlands we owned 2 of them huge dogs but now that I am back to snakes im just hooked... I Dont know if there could be any pet cooler and I hate poeple who are uneducated on the topic saying they will like bite them and they are slimey am all :angry01: :madeuce: ... well i just wanted to see what you though was the best pet and if you think corns are allyways gunna win that fight aginst the
crockadile-hunter then post here

Maybe I am a little loopy, but I'm having trouble understanding what most of that post meant. If you're asking if corns are one of the best pets, then of course I'd have to agree. Of course, I'm a big fan of most herps, but I must say the corns are really near the top of my list. They're so easy to care for and they are great "companions." Yep, I'd bet that everyone here is gonna agree that corns are great...

I'd also like to add that I love all my little turtles just as much as I love Sienna...I don't think I'd ever give up all herps and keep only corns.

I think this was relevant to the thread, correct me if I'm wrong...

that is correct, I was asking what you thought was the best pet or your favorite.

Of all the herps I've seen/kept, I'd still have to rate bearded dragons at top of the list in terms of "pet" attributes - comfort when being handled, shyness v. gregariousness/curiosity, etc....

But corns are a strong second, and probably ahead of beardies in other attributes - variety of morphs, ease of feeding/enclosure maintenance, and ease of breeding.

Crested geckos are elbowing their way into my heartstrings, too. They take to hand almost as well as leopard geckos, with a bit more activity. Leos just seem to plod along, IMO.

But as fascinated as I've become with herps over the past year, I'll always "be owned" by Labs. I wouldn't trade my dog for anything.

regards,
jazz

I've been wanting beardies for ages, but it's not something I could really afford to keep right now.

I grew up with cats but have always preferred dogs... until I found mine, that is. She was abandoned (litter of 4) and since I lived with 4 cats at the time, one of which just had a litter of 3, we took in the 4 strays (now 7 kittens and 4 adults). And since mine was scared of her own shadow and would only eat if I hand fed her, I guess you can kind of say she chose me. I would HAVE to put her down if I ever had to give her up, because she would for SURE die of loneliness. She is drfinitely MY baby.

Aside from her, the python is very quickly winning me over, but every time I take my corn snake out, he quickly reminds me why I fell in love with him to begin with (then just as quickly reminds me why I like pythons more). lol He's the cutest thing ever, but will NOT sit still!

I've had SUCH a huge cariety of pets I can't even remember them all, and chosing a favorite is impossible. The one (and only one) though that I could NEVER give up is my cat... but she's family...

What about a tortoise?

My African Spurred Tortoises (Geochelone sulcatta) is extremely smart. These guys can be taught tricks using simple behavior modification techniques. Of course the best part is that since they are grazers, they can live off the grass and foliage in your yard. No more mowing for CAV! :)

This is Simon Scutes Tortuga, III, Esq., one of my favorite herps!

Well, it's tough deciding between the snakes, and my dogs. The horses are wonderful too, but they aren't really pets. I can't keep them in the house.
