Corn snake hasn't eaten since August 23

Removing that light may be what you need. :shrugs:
Has your snake had a shed with you? If not this could be what's about to happen. Some people find it hard to tell when their snakes are in blue.

I've had my snake for nearly a month and have not experienced a shed. His eyes were still red last thursday so he was not in the process of shedding yet.

i've found that with one of my snakes if I put him in(handle) and put the mouse too soon he wont eat it, try waiting 5 minutes. I also feed my baby snakes life pinkies. Also are they the right size (pinky not too big)
 
one quick question, I feed my corn in a 5.5 gallon tank which is alot of room for a 3 month corn. Often he hides in the opposite end of the tank as far away from the pinky as possible. I was searching this site and some people are feeding there corns in tupperware with the lid on (with holes for breathing) and leaving them in the tank overnight. I am contemplating this method as it eliminates my corn from running away and easy to monitor. Yay or Nay?

Also would you suggest trying multiple methods of feeding per attempt. I always try warming the pinky before feeding first. After about an hour if that doesn't work I will brain the pinky and leave that for an hour.

For tomorrow I will be warming the pinky and leaving it in the tuperware overnight with my corn. I won't disturb it by opening the lid and braining the pinky. Hopefully this method works **crosses fingers**
 
Good luck my guy is a pretty good feeder although he got shy today and I just had to leave him be. Personally I feed him in a fairly small little pet cage thing (sorta like you would keep say a spider in) maybe 4x6"
 
Ppl use all kinds of things to feed 'problem' little ones.. small tuperware type dishes, deli dishes, brown paper bag.... its just something Small so that the snake cant 'hide' from the pinkie. I usually dont try different things during one feeding time.. I think that might cause more refuseal and confusion for the little one. I hope he eats soon!

I'm sorry if I missed this, but where did you purchase your snake? Do they not have live pinks? How often were you feeding it before it started fasting?



If it's a female snake it probably just wanted to look good in a bathing suit. :)

I purchased my sname from http://www.rivercityreptiles.net/contact.htm they were feeding it f/t pinkies every 5 days. I was never able to get my corn to feed since I got it 3 weeks ago. So there is definately something wrong with my swetup. I purchased a cave hide today to provide it with another hide (bettwe then the half log). I hope it isn't too late.

Don't do "multiple methods of feeding per attempt"
And don't try to feed day after day after day.
Try every five to seven days now.
Your going to drive yourself nuts.
 
if they were able to get it to feed for them and you still have a problem.. I would contact them to see how they were feeding it and the exact size prey.. some say pinkie but that covers Alot of sizes. Since you are having such a problem with him, I would contact them regardless... they Shouldnt have any problems with trying to help you to get him to feed :) I wish you the best of luck :)

I have contacted my reptileshop and allowed them to feed my snake on several occasions with zero success. I am going to try the tupperware method leaving him in there overnight with a tiny f/t. If this fails I have contacted the store and they told me to leave the snake with them for several days to see if they can feed it. I hope tonight will be the night but I find myself thinking of the worst... :(
 
Update

UPDATE: I used the tupperware method last night and my little guy ATE. He finally took his first meal with me, it took him only about 30seconds after I had left him in the tupperware before he was smelling his food and finally devoured it. I would like to thank everyone for their advice, concern and support. This definately has been a stress 4 weeks. I will try and maintain a feeding regiment of 5 days becuase I want my little guy to grow up nice and strong.
