could any of you experienced snake people tell me what type i have. if you could look at my pics of her and tell me please.:shrugs:

Elaphe guttata guttata is the old(?) latin name for a Corn Snake. The new name has been proposed as Pantherophis guttatus, but I don't think it's yet been accepted by the formal body that oversees species classification.

So all Corn Snakes are (or were, depending on how you see it!) Elaphe guttata guttata.

Yours is a Classic, also known as a Normal or sometimes a Carolina. It's not a morph - that's what the wild-type natural colouring is called.

hide

i put a small cardbord box into sasha's viv to give her a hide on the cooler side of her viv which i cleaned and sterilised . is this ok to do as i don't want to do anything that would harm sasha. advice would but great and i would be greatful for it. ta

Good call. Cardboard boxes make great hides - cheap to throw away when they get dirty and easy to replace. You usually don't need to clean or sterilise them. The only problem would be if they'd been in contact with cleaning products or other household chemicals - in which case, just use a different box.

With Corns, the more hides they have, the happier they are. They don't care whether you've spent £5 on it, or caught it for free before it reached the recycling! Toilet roll and kitchen roll tubes also seem very popular.
