Corn Snakes

My youngest son has a 1yr old corn snake (Toto), today my older son got a 4 yr old albino jungle corn snake (Snow). Toto caught a glimps of Snow and ever since she has been curled up on her tree branch staring in the direction of Snows cage. She cant see Snow but Toto usually hide all day so this is odd behavior for her to be out sitting in the same spot.

Can some one tell me what they think shes doing?

She's might just be getting used to the new smell which has arrived. Once she gets used to it, she'll be fine. The behaviour could also be unrelated to the new snake - I have 13 Corn Snakes in my lounge with tanks arranged so that many of them can see other tanks. It's never seemed to worry them.

Basically as long as she eats the next time you give her food, she's fine.

she has not hidden since i brought the other snake. its the next morning now and she is still out. she seems to be trying to find a way out of the cage. I have never seen her this active and i have never seen her out this long.

I would really recommend quarantining your newest acquisition in another room to help prevent the spread of disease.

one of mine is kinda like that. When i take her out its like "i want to see my friends" always wanting to go and check out the other tanks. she "visits" for a few mins and is done. She also is very active when the kids come home too. but my kids always smell kinda funny after school. lol

ok so i can let her check out the other snake through the cage and thats fine? Unless we take toto out she doesnt come out unless its her feeding day so to see her so active is a little strange but its definately nice to actually see her out and about.

i would still quarantine before doing so. I have had 2 of my snakes out at a time mostly with me with one and my bf with the other. we can both be sitting on the couch with them with no problems. they check each other out and then go and do thier seperate things.

They all have thier own personalities that i have found. maybe with this new snake there is will keep bringing her more out and about.

I dont let my boys take them out at the same time. It would be to hard for me to keep an eye on both of them. Toto is still really small and would get lost easily so i always sit with my son while he holds her.
My husband doesnt like snakes so I dont have the extra help, it took alot of convincing to let the boys get snakes and he agreed to corn snakes cause they dont get really big.

Lol. Yeah little ones are fast. Lol glad you were able to get your husband to come around. Atleast they only get like 6 feet max n are "skinnyish"

You probably wouldn't want to get then both out at the same time anyway. Jungle corns are hybrids, being half king snake, they might smell your hand or the smaller snake and think something's for lunch!
