Cornwallis....four years later

Hail_Britannia

Animals > People.
Well, it's been while since I've been on this site, what with life and all. But it was a nice sunny day out today and I did a little snakey photo shoot. This is Cornwallis, my pride and my joy, the sweetest snake you could ask for. He is an 09 amel, and I just adore him. For comparison, here he is as a wee snakelet.

And here he is today! I'm not even sure how much he weighs at this point, but he last shed measured at least four feet long. I love that yellow-orange along the sides of his neck.

We've never had him formally sexed, but based on the tail shape I rather suspect Cornwallis is actually female. Either way, looking forward to many more years with him/her! Gonna be a monstah, I think :)

Look how much she's grown!! (I'm going with female...) I've got this Cali king, Choco. He was sold as a male, but I always suspected female, based on tail shape. Choco is seven this year. She just laid a big clutch of slugs! Cornwallis may declare herself some day.

Thanks, guys :) I'm absolutely goofy over her. After I took the pics yesterday she just curled up behind me in my computer chair and hung out for a while.

I really do think you're right, Nanci. Since we don't plan on breeding we never bothered to find out- she was a Craigslist snake. I believe she came from an accidental breeding of a snow and an anery, if I remember correctly- they were cohabbed. I've thought about breeding every now and again, but I really don't know what I'd do with the babies. Maybe someday.

Wow, what a lovely amel. I hope my Aurora will turn out as nicely as your Cornwallis. Love the spiralling pic as well!
