The One an Only Kuro....
Just as the title says my albino cali king escaped twice..within the last 48hours(2 days).
I'll start at the begining(wont be to long..promise)...
Friday after school i bought three brand new 27qt sterilite tubs for my three big colubrids(which are my cali king, my miami phase corn, and my sunglow corn) since they were getting way to big for the tubs they were in.
I drilled holes in all three and put Kuro(the miami) and Serg(sunglow) in their tubs followed shortly by Maeve being put into her tub. Left them alone..but came back to check on them 4-5 hours later and found that Maeve had escaped her tub! looked through her bedding again to make sure..no sign of her about 30 minutes to an hour later i stoped my search to check on Renji(my new snow corn) who had regured his pinky on monday(the 26th)...while i was starting to open Renji's cage i look to my right abd surprise! there Maeve coiled up nice and calm in a old upside down hide.
Picked her up gave her a smooch told her NOT to do that ever again cause it worried me to death cause the last snake i had that escaped was my yellow rat Syfka who escaped the night i got her and wasn't found till two months later dead and stuck to one of our cats. Put her back into her tub added some binder clips and weight and went to bed(it was 1:30-2:00am when i found her)
Well next morning(saturday) i went to check on her and noticed she had again escaped...looked for through out the day with out any luck but while my mom was preparing supper(around 7:30pm) i went to search places i thought she'd be again...under the TV stand...nope not there, under parents dresser...not there either, looked under gun case after moving a pink piece of paper out of the way....eureka! found her...she was pretty chilly but was fine had enough energy to bite me and rattle her tail. How she escaped with the binder clips and weight is beyond me.
So instead of putting her back in her new tub for fearing she'd just escape again i just put her in Kuros old tub which has a sercurely locking lid so she wont escape again...i'll just have to go out and buy a different tub with a better lid that locks into place well.
