Cross Country Move

The good news is that I just was offered a new job--YAY!! A librarian job in the same state where my family all lives, so I'll get to see my neices and siblings.

The bad news is that I have to pack up and move across the country--from Ohio to Utah--a 1700 mile trip. This will be my second time doing this--but last time I had no furniture and no pets.

I'm trying to figure out the logistics of transporting all my stuff. So far I've decided to get rid of the unimportant stuff--like my furniture, and keep the important ones like my snakes and some of my fish.

I know some of y'all have moved across the country--any tips for moving, with snakes and/or fish, or just the move?

I wont be moving until the first of June--but I wanted to get the ball rolling with planning!

I moved from MN to FL with all my stuff. I rented a U-Haul and put my truck on a trailer. It wasn't so bad. I don't know about moving fish, but the snakes shouldn't be a problem.

That was what I'd originally planned--just to rent a truck--but it would be around 2k$ for rent and gas. I'm not sure my stuff is worth that much--it might be less money to sell it here and then buy new stuff out there. I need a new bed anyway, the only bit of furniture I really want to take with me is the snake rack!
