cup of hypos

Here are some of the hypos I produced this year. Yes, all are hypos... from a hypo striped female (rich Z) and one of my own hypo miami males.

Dont flame me for cohabbing.... yes, I know the dangers. I keep the 'store' babies together between feedings because its less stressful on them this way once they go to the store.

Aww, look at all the wittle babies!! I like the one on the top right with the connected head pattern (giving that ring-neck look)...one of my favorite hypos has the same thing!

Thanks Hallie. hehe yes, they were pretty small at this time. There are 5 of them in the little condiment cup. lol I liked the same one LOL I did actually pull that one for myself. I am hopeing in a couple years to breed it back to momma and get some more stripes. :)

Not flaming at all, just curious...why don't you keep the 'store snakes' separate? Do you have any difference in their feeding pattern and growth rates compared to keepers that are in separate set-ups?

just a guess here but probably she means at the store they will all get thrown together in a tank and that could be very stressful if they aren't used to cohabbing as they grow up. she has the snakes best interests in mind =)

Its a very good question actually. The babies that are together seem to actually be less shy about seeing movement, like ppl walking around, other snakes moveing around in their containers, etc. They just sniff, grab and eat. The ones I pick out for keepers or for orders... they are abit more cautious about seing movement and take abit longer to eat. As for growth rate and such. To be honest.... the store babies actually weight more, more quickly than the ones i keep seperate.

Zulu, is right... I am thinking about the snakes when I keep the store babies together. Because at the store, they put them into tanks all together and if they arent used to it, its very shocking to them and they can stop eating and stuff. I dont like doing it this way but it seems to make the transfer in the shopd easier on them.
