Cutting down the spine

NFS07

Stolen
Someone on here said that cutting down the spine would somehow help the snakes. I just don't remember how or who said it, I think it was something I came across in passing. Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks.

Slitting the back? I do that sometimes. It helps the digestive enzymes get into the mouse and really get going. If I'm upping the meal size for the first time, I always do this.

I just cut about three slits into the skin of the back.

I slit all my hatchlings' meals. Well, mostly I just pierce holes in the pinks, since I find it easier than slitting something so small, sometimes. :}

Well, by thoes charts, its quite clear that cutting does help them grow faster. Very interesting. I usually have to brain the food item i'm offering Yoshi...but i have not been slitting the skin. Perhaps this is something to concider. :)

I stop slitting the mice when the snake switches to adult mice/ is an "adult" itself. If I have a snake that has regurged, I slit both sides as well as the back of the mouse, many times. On pinks/fuzzies, I slit the head, too, just to make it extra yummy!!
