LOL...just being nosy here...
since the Daytona show just ended today and for all of you that went....I just want to know...
what did you get?

I know that I have just missed the BIGGEST and the one that I want to go MOST....so just wondering how it was.....to feel how everyone though of the show.....if I have the chance next year I'll be going for sure....

Post some pics of what you got...I want to know if it's okay for you guys/gals...

You beat me to the post!

I was just coming here to ask what everyone got!

I picked up a pair of hypos het lavender, 2001 hatchlings, from Rich. I was thinking of just getting a male lavender, but decided to spend just a little more and get a pair. I was excited with my purchase, thinking that I'll get hypos and the occasional lavender on their first pairing in 2 years, instead of having to wait even more years (I have no other lavenders) if I had just gotten the one male (limited funds). It wasn't until I was halfway home today (bought them first thing on Saturday) that it dawned on me that I will NOT be getting ANY lavenders from this pair...I'll be getting HYPOLAVS!!! EVEN BETTER!!! I absolutely LOVE the hypolavs!!! Now THAT is what I call a birthday present! (My birthday was yesterday, no lie! And don't ask how old!! I'm somewhere between being old enough to vote and old enough to go senile.)

I brought my husband along, as well as his sister and her husband. It was a totally new experience for my in-laws, and they absolutely loved it! My sister-in-law ALMOST bought a pair of geckos, but she had made an agreement with her husband to have no more pets for awhile after the death of their Cocker spaniel a little while ago. She did buy two plants there, so she did go home happy. They said that they really enjoyed watching me at the show, saying I was like a child in a candy shop! I guess I'm crazier about herps than I originally thought I was!

Wow...
congrats!!
First of all, Happy Belated Birthday!!

I would love to see a picture of your hets.....and what's even better...to see a picture of your hypolavs two years later!! I bet that those would be super nice!!!

I wish that I would have been to the 'candy shop'....I would of loved it there...and MUST have stayed there for the two days....even if it meant spending around $500 CDN just to get there....for the air ticket...

I got myself that pair of Hypomelanistic corns at the auction on Saturday night, heh.

Also grabbed Sandfire Ranch's contribution to the auction (Picked up a $150 Red X Gold Sandfire for $60), heh.

That was about it as far as new residents goes... After spending several hundred $ on tanks, Active UVHeat bulbs, crickets, fountains and all kindsa other crap, we were running a lil low in the pocket, heh ;)

:( i was in florida at the time, and i went to daytona the day after! i am really unhappy that i missed it. but my holiday was great. my parents said i am definetly not getting a corn snake, but i told em, when you find out that i have bought one, i will of had it for about a month ne ways! i mean, it isn't like it is a noisy animal!

congrats on the new lavs susan!

Tenacious_Ash,

Don't worry....I totally understand how it feels to miss a show this big.....I too was planning to go....it's all because of the stupid final exam that I had during the 19th of Aug.....really if it wasn't for that exam I would of gone there without thinking of anything else.....so I totally understand how you feel right now.....look on the bright side....at least you had your vication and that you had fun during those time....I was sitting in my room....studying the whole time.........

Hope that the both of us can go next year.......
