Dean's Snakes Part 1

Joejr14

Grand Bubble Burster
Went to Dean's today for a probing lesson and a photography shoot. It was really nice to be able to shoot some scaly things for the first time since I've gotten my camera. I was getting tired of shooting Santas and cigar wrappers.

Anyway, here's part 1 of about 10. Let's hope they all load in correct order. Dean is going to have to say what is what. And btw, if you want a specific photo enlarged and cropped for your avatar or something let me know.

It was great meeting you, Joe. You really know your stuff, and I learned a lot of good info from you. I'm sure that poor snow on which I practiced probing wasn't sorry to see you go though. :grin01:

I'm seeing things in these pics that I've never seen before. I'm lazy, so I really appreciate the fact that the best photos ever taken of these guys were taken, sized, and posted by someone else. If my bank account ever recovers from my late '05 snake purchases, we'll need to talk cameras. :)

Good meeting you, as well. You've definitely got some drool worthy snakes. Hopefully in a few years I'll be able to add stuff like that to the inventory.

You should find the two pictures of the lavs we discussed and re-post them in a different thread, and see what you get for an opinion. If the majority of the board doesn't back me up, I'd be totally shocked.

Let me know which pictures you want full sized, cropped, or resized down to avatar size.

Amazing snakes and super pics! The color is so vibrant in each and every pic! The lav (or hypolav...sometimes can't tell the difference) with the tongue is beyond words! The colors on his head and neck would make a rainbow hide behind the clouds in shame!

I'll do that.

With your permission, I'd like to download what you've posted "as is" for my files. I'd never post one of your pics without citing you as the photographer (except as an avatar). If there's stuff that you didn't post, that you think I should have, I'd love to get them over a few emails. :)

By all means, download what you want. I offered to resize stuff for you since I've got the original pictures that are roughly 8mb a pop. I went though all ~150 of the pictures and resized all the ones that were in focus and looked good. There might be 10-15 that are in focus, that I just didn't post. I'd be more than happy to put them all on a CD and mail it to you, or just email---but it'd be one big, big file. I can zip the folder and attach it, but it would still be a big email. It's up to you.

Great pics, may i ask what kind of camera you have? I love the quality of the pics, you did such a great job :)

Sure. I've got a Nikon D50. I was just using the kit lens, which is an 18-55mm and the in camera flash. No money to buy the fancy macro lens and hot-shoe flashes yet.

Just finishing stealing all the pics. I'm on dial-up, so it was a bit rough. I'll do that lav/hypo-lav poll tomorrow. Let's try a zipped attachment. If that doesn't work, we can figure something else out. Thanks again.

Zipped attachment isn't gonna work. Each picture is running about 2.5mb, so that's something like 330mb for the whole folder of pictures. I'll just burn everything onto a CD-R and mail you out a copy of it tomorrow. Not a big deal.

I'm still bored, so here's a better cropped picture of your hypo lav.

People who own Lavender bloodreds sure must have a fast internet-connection.. LOL You do have warm water and cable TV over there?

Just pulling your leg ofcourse..

nice pics...try to adjust your f stop a little so the whole snake is in focus...like the last few pics...it looks like you used a low f stop probably 4 or 5.6? try to use 8 or 11...also are you shooting in RAW?
