I am wondering how the number system consisting of decimals/numbers is to be deciphered. For instance I'll see 1.1 or 0.1,etc. for a given snake. Thanks for your help. Stu
 
The numbers and decimal points indicate the number of snakes, and their gender. The number to the left of the decimal point indicates male, and the number to the right of the decimal point indicates female.

For example: 1.1 means 1 male, and 1 female.
0.1 means no males, and 1 female.
2.3 means 2 males, and 3 females.
4.0 means 4 males, and no females.

You may also see something like, 1.2.4 - the number to the right of the second decimal point means 'gender unknown'. So this would be 1 male, 2 females, and 4 animals of unknown gender.

It isn't used much that I've seen with snakes, but gecko people will often also number their eggs. In that case it would look like this, 1.2.0.6, or one male, two female, no unknowns and six eggs.
