My corn is about 18inches she shed yesterday and about the last three inches on her tail is still there should I try and get this off or not worry about it?:smash:
 
You need to remove the dead skin, otherwise your snake will lose the end of his/her tail. you could try gently peeling the skin back.
 
Okay i'll try that thanks for the help.. Can I ask why this would happen I'm not second guessing anyone i'm just curious what would cause her to lose her tail
 
The unshed skin can cut off circulation to the tail and kill it.

You're about the fifth person in the last few days that's had a snake with an incomplete shed- must be from the low winter humidity. Next time you can make a humid hide for your snake, cover the lid of the viv with loose plastic wrap and mist every couple days.
 
Yeah i figured thats what it was. If I buy some of that moss and use a container should I just put it in there when she's about to shed or should it be left in there all the time. I mist everyday or every other day but I don't put the plastic on top i'll try that.
 
I just wanted to thank everyone for there help on this. I put her in a tupperware container last night with a wet wash cloth and the skin fell off in like 5 minutes she didn't like to well but it worked. So thanks again for all the help......:dancer:
 
You put the moist hide in with her when you notice she's gone blue. You might want to put her in it a couple times at first to show her where/what it is.
