I was in the middle of feeding and cleaning enclosures last night. One of my corns was in her hide as usual (a quart container with a hole on the lid, moss & etc) when I tried to get her out I noticed the eggs, she laid 10 and has 3 more inside, from what it looks like. I put her back right away and she drank water for a while. She has not passed the other eggs. Its has been 21 hours since i disturbed her. Im starting to worry?..she is 3 years old, never had an issue of any kind. How long should I wait before aspirating or a vet visit.

Hello,

Hi I'm the guy the links are refering to!! Kathy was the best!!! Very calm (i wasnt) and reassuring. the procedure isnt really that hard..it's just overwhelming at first....but you quickly get the hang of it! Just drop a line, i'll help as much as i can. Or drop kathy a note, perhaps she will guide you through as well. good luck!

Thank you..so much.
Let me start out by saying that I lost my first snake when she was 7 yrs old after becoming eggbound. That was over 10 years ago. This is the first time since then that I have encountered this issue again. I watched the vids and decided that I would attempt to massage them out.
First I cleared a work area and sanitized it thouroughly. Sanitized my probe and put the snake in a tub of warm water for a half hour while i got ready for work. With a little help we then proceeded to hold her down, I inserted the lubed probe gently and work it around the egg. Slowly her cloaca opened and I applied gentle pressure to the eggs. One came out and I set it down. All the while she was calm as can be.
She is an extremely gentle snake and I thought this would freak her out, but she remained cool the whole time. After the first one came out the other 2 came down pretty quick after and the lead one was protruding, at this point we had her gently retsrained only the the head and neck section her mid and tail end where on the table. I gave her 10 minutes and they wouldnt come out so again I resterilized and lubed since the where some feces with the first egg.
I then expelled both eggs almost at the same time they were almost stuck together upon inspection. All three eggs where white & plump. I put them in the incubator right away. I then put her in her enclosure where she coiled up on the heat mat right away. I didnt have time to film it even though I wish I had. But couldnt because of time restraints. Her cloaca closed completely and there was no blood involved, but now im worried I rushed the procedure and hurt her in the process. The whole thing took about 20 minutes to a half hour. Thanks again

I am glad to hear that they came out. I don't personally think that you rushed it. I probably would have done the same thing. Most of the time the eggs that were stuck don't make it. So don't be surprised if those ones turn south on you.

Sounds like it went very well! Glad to hear it. I think, if you had hurt/injured her, she would not have been so calm.

3 eggs

The last 3 eggs where the biggest ones and looked just as viable as the others so Im going to take a chance and incubate them. Rolling the dice!

LOL Oh yeah roll the dice. Never throw out an egg till you are sure it is not going to make it. There is a chance they make it just most the time they don't.
