i was just wondering, i know that snakes can feel vibrations and that, but can they hear? If so can you see their ears? if that is the case then any pictures showing the ears would be great. :)
 
Nope, they cannot hear sounds, and they do not have ears. They can pick up very small, minute ground vibrations of other creatures that are moving in their vicinity. Picking up vibrations from the ground is one way that snakes find prey and avoid enemies and danger.

Um, actually snakes can hear. They don't have external ears, but they do have internal ear structures. Studies have shown that at certain frequencies, their hearing exceeds that of a cat.

Oh, where is Lenny with that link when I need him?
 
Right, we just went through this a month or so ago- old school was they don't have external ears, can't hear, but there have been studies since then that suggest otherwise.
